Travel Day

Greetings from Johannesburg South Africa!!

We have arrived safely despite a few moments of panic. Like at the Buffalo Airport when Rob forgot his wallet in the van and Colin had to come back and like when our plane all of a sudden shut down while moving out of the gate at JFK in New York! The connecting flight from JFK to Atlanta was tight but we did it!!
There was quite a bit of turbulence too but it actually lulled us to sleep. Trying to sleep in our chairs reminded us of the time we drove straight to Nova Scotia and tried to sleep in the van chairs at one of those rest stops along side the road. No matter how exciting it all is- sleeping in a chair is sleeping in a chair. It kinda sucks! We did however enjoy tons of movies and documentaries which we would never have had a chance to watch otherwise.

It was so strange with the time change. We went 6 hours ahead...so we boarded the flight at 7:30pm last night and flew all night and day until we landed here at 5:30pm. But as we travelled through the night it actually became daytime so they kept the plane windows closed and the cabin darkened so you really had no sense of the time. When it felt like the night they woke us up for a breakfast snack!! It was weird!

Tomorrow we take the last flight over to Windhoek Namibia. We are looking forward to a few days relaxing there before we meet up with the tour group.
